MASTER'S MESSAGE

Dear Brothers of Weston Lodge,

As we reflect on our journey thus far, I'm filled with gratitude and pride for the remarkable first quarter we've shared together as a Lodge. Already this year, we have conducted ritual on the Entered Apprentice, Fellowcraft, and Master Mason Degrees and I thank all of you who have attended and participated in these events! Our joint Table Lodge with Nevada No. 4 was a resounding success, and we eagerly anticipate another gathering in the Fall to deepen our fraternal connections – stay tuned for details!

Continuing our successful Masonic Discussions at the 1st stated communications, this month we will be debating the merits and value of leveraging a Chamber of Reflection as part of the ritual work in a Lodge. If you are unfamiliar with the concept, this article and this Podcast explain it nicely and are well worth a read/listen! Please come ready to discuss your opinion to the question: Should a Chamber of Reflection be part of the initiatic experience in Freemasonry?

I am looking forward to a great second quarter filled with ritual work, debating and sharing ideas, education, and brotherly love. I hope each of you are having even a fraction as much fun as I am having from the East! I appreciate your continued support and here’s to Higher Thoughts, Nobler Deeds, and Greater Achievements!

Fraternally, Josh Levin, Worshipful Master
Weston Lodge No. 22

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

Israel “Izzy” Corbo is a first-generation Cuban-American born and raised in Southern Florida. I have been a registered nurse for over thirty years with the majority of my experience in pediatric emergency care. I have been married to Andrea for almost 27 years and we have two grown children (Jacob-21 y/o & Natalia-26 y/o). We have lived in Colorado for the past 13+ years and have never looked back at going back to Florida! I am not aware of any family members who were involved in Free Masonry, but I have had an interest in becoming a Mason since seeing the Shriners at a parade as a child. I am very lucky to have found such an active Lodge with Weston #22 and I hope to grow and become more involved for many years to come!

MASTER'S MESSAGE

Dear Brothers of Weston Lodge;

I hope this message finds you well and full of Masonic zeal. We have much to celebrate and anticipate in the coming weeks.

First and foremost, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Brother Miguel Garcia on his advancement to the Fellowcraft degree. Your dedication and commitment to the craft are truly commendable. I also want to express my gratitude to all the line officers for their unwavering support and participation. A special thank you goes to WB Cisco and WB Scott for delivering fantastic lectures.

As we look ahead, mark your calendars for our upcoming Joint Table Lodge with Nevada 4 on March 16th at 6pm. This promises to be a fantastic evening of fun and fellowship to include an Irish theme, dinner, and drinks. All Masons are welcome to join us for this special event, donations accepted but not required. Please remember to RSVP and sign up to help with setup, cleanup, or to deliver a short presentation.

Lastly, I invite you to join with us as we continue our Masonic Discussion series. The past two months have brought some wonderful conversations and points of view to light. This month, let us ponder and debate the merits of experiencing the degrees in Freemasonry in a group setting versus as individuals. Your thoughts and insights are invaluable as we explore this topic together!

May we all continue to strive for Higher Thoughts, Nobler Deeds, and Greater Achievements

Fraternally yours,
Josh Levin Worshipful Master

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

Miguel Garcia was initiated as an EA in November of 2023. Bro. Miguel was born in TX, but raised in Santa Barbara County, CA. He is a Principal Engineer with Spectrum Communications working in IT, he is married, has 5 children, and 2 grandchildren. So far, his favorite part of Masonry is the challenge it offers as he progresses through the degrees and the comradery!

MASTER'S MESSAGE

Brothers;

I hope this message finds you well, embraced by the spirit of brotherly love that defines our fraternity.

I want to remind you of our upcoming Widows and Past Master Luncheon on February 3rd at 12pm. It's a cherished tradition where we honor the widows of our departed brethren and express gratitude to our esteemed Past Masters. Please RSVP and sign up to help using the links provided. Your participation and support are appreciated.

Congratulations to our three new Entered Apprentices initiated at our last meeting. Their journey into Freemasonry marks the beginning of a profound experience. I extend heartfelt congratulations to each of them and sincere appreciation to all officers for their dedication in delivering a memorable degree.

Regarding our Masonic Discussion, I'd like to explore a hypothetical scenario with you. As a Lodge, one of our key responsibilities is to make new Masons. In today's digital age, advertising our presence on social media platforms like Facebook could potentially reach a wider audience of men who share interests in self-improvement and community service. However, the question arises: Do you believe such an initiative would help or harm a Lodge? I invite you to share your thoughts and perspectives on this matter.

As we approach our first stated meeting in February, I encourage each of you to attend and participate in our Masonic Discussion. It's an opportunity for us to engage in meaningful dialogue, share insights, and strengthen our bonds of brotherhood. Let us come together with open hearts and minds, embodying the principles of Freemasonry in our discussions and interactions.

Fraternally,
Josh Levin - Your Worshipful Master

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

Moving forward, beginning in February, we will be taking some time to highlight various members of our Lodge. They may be members who are staples at every event, newer Masons, or long time Masons who we haven’t seen in a while. Stay tuned!

MASTER'S MESSAGE

Dear Brothers of Weston Lodge,
I trust this message finds each of you in good health and high spirits as we embark on a new Masonic year. As your Worshipful Master, I am honored to share my aspirations and plans for the coming months.

In the spirit of transparency and shared vision, I'm thrilled to present our 2024 Strategic Plan. While I recognize the dynamic nature of our journey and the likelihood of adjustments along the way, having a plan is crucial. I encourage each Brother to take a moment to read through it. Your insights and perspectives are invaluable as we collectively shape the path ahead.

Our theme, "Higher Thoughts, Nobler Deeds, Greater Achievements," encapsulates the essence of our shared endeavor. It's not just a collection of words but a beacon guiding our actions and interactions throughout the year. Together, let's explore the depth and richness these ideals offer to our Lodge and community.

Mark your calendars for our first Masonic Discussion at the January Stated Meeting. This promises to be more than a lecture; it's an invitation to engage in meaningful discourse. We'll start with topics that get us all comfortable with the process and progressively delve into the heart of Masonry. Your participation will enrich our collective understanding and strengthen our fraternal bonds. Please be there and participate, your thoughts and opinions are important!

As I step into the East, I want to express my deep gratitude for the trust you have placed in me. It's an honor to serve as you as Worshipful Master, and I am excited about the journey ahead. Together, let us continue to build on the rich legacy of Weston Lodge No. 22, creating memories, fostering brotherhood, and making a positive impact in our community.

May this Masonic year be marked by Higher Thoughts, Nobler Deeds, and Greater Achievements for each and every one of us!

Fraternally,
Your Worshipful Master – Josh Levin

MASTER'S MESSAGE

Dear Brothers of Weston Lodge,

As I stand before you for the final time as your Worshipful Master, I am filled with a profound sense of honor and gratitude. Serving you all this past year has been a monumental experience—one that will remain etched in my heart for a lifetime.

Becoming a Mason, my initial goal was not to ascend to the role of Worshipful Master. However, when the opportunity arose as a young Mason to contribute to our Lodge's growth and development, I eagerly embraced the chance. These years in line have taught me a valuable lesson: one doesn't need a title to make a meaningful impact. As I step down, I urge each of you to engage in some self-reflection. Consider how you can contribute to the continued prosperity of Weston. Whether it's lending a hand in event preparations, extending a warm welcome to new prospects, joining a committee, or conducting in-home investigations— every effort, big or small, enriches both you and our beloved fraternity. In the timeless words, "You get out of it what you put into it."

This year, with the collective effort of our dedicated brothers, Weston Lodge achieved remarkable feats. From fulfilling the final wishes of a Past Master to attend one last lodge meeting, performing degree work in the dark period to raise a Master Mason before his grandfather's last breath, to laying a cornerstone that will endure for years to come—these accomplishments are a testament to our shared commitment. Every brother should take pride in the fact that we conducted degree work in every month of the year, a feat I would confidently wager no other lodge in the state achieved. Another Honor Lodge Year is a testament to our collective dedication.

As I transition from the role of Worshipful Master, I want to assure you that I will not fade away. I am here for each of you, ready to offer my assistance and continue to guide the Lodge from the sidelines. And, of course, to crack a few jokes and enjoy the new master's friendly shushing!

Fraternally,
Michael Cardoza
Worshipful Master

MASTER'S MESSAGE

Greetings Brothers of Weston 22,

I'm thrilled to update you on our recent successes and upcoming events as we journey through the final stretch of 2023.

Our recent official Grand Lodge visit was a true triumph. The Grand Master and the grand officers were effusive in their praise for our warm reception and the delightful dinner they enjoyed. Your hospitality and camaraderie truly showcased the strength of our lodge.

I'd like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to all our members for making Weston Lodge 22 one of the most robust lodges in the state. To further strengthen our bonds, I invite you to join us at our upcoming Wives Night on November 18, 2023, at 6:00 PM. Let's aim for an impressive turnout of 40 to 50 brothers and their partners. Please RSVP by November 11th to help us plan the evening's festivities.

The Weston Masonic Temple Association (WMTA) is a crucial pillar of our lodge, and we're in need of seven dedicated members to join the WMTA team for the coming year. Your involvement can help maintain the high standards we've set and continue the important work.

As we approach the final meetings of 2023, I'm excited about the camaraderie, the learning, and the sense of purpose they bring. Our gatherings are a testament to the strength and unity of our lodge, and I eagerly anticipate the experiences that lie ahead.

In conclusion, I extend my heartfelt thanks for your unwavering commitment to our lodge and the principles of Freemasonry. Together, we'll continue to shine as a beacon of brotherhood and service. I look forward to our upcoming events and to continuing our journey as a united and impactful lodge.

Fraternally,
Michael Cardoza
Worshipful Master

MASTER'S MESSAGE

Brethren of Weston Lodge 22,

As your Worshipful Master, I am pleased to announce that we have emerged from our dark period and are eager to embark on the remainder of the year with renewed enthusiasm. It is heartwarming to see the light shine upon us once again, and we have a calendar filled with exciting events to look forward to. These gatherings promise to be both enjoyable and meaningful, strengthening the bonds we share as brothers and Masons.

One highlight on our horizon is the Joint Table Lodge with our esteemed brethren from Union Lodge 7. This event will not only foster unity but also provide an opportunity for us to express our gratitude to the incredible women who support us on our Masonic journey, as we'll also be hosting a special Wives Night.

Moreover, I am thrilled to announce the grand reopening of our entryway. This symbolic gateway to our Lodge holds great significance, as it is where we welcome new initiates and guests. The improvements we've made reflect our commitment to preserving our traditions while embracing change.

In conclusion, let us collectively pledge to finish 2023 with strength and purpose. Our Lodge thrives because of the dedication and commitment of each member. I encourage all of you to remain actively engaged, attend our meetings, and participate in our events. Together, we can achieve greatness and ensure the continued success of Weston Lodge 22.

With gratitude for your unwavering support and commitment to our Masonic journey, I look forward to the exciting times ahead, strengthening our bonds as brothers.

Fraternally, Michael Cardoza
Worshipful Master, Weston Lodge 22

MASTER'S MESSAGE

Greetings to all the esteemed brothers of Weston Lodge Number 22,

I hope this message finds you all in good health and high spirits. It brings me great pleasure to address you once again as we resume our monthly newsletter after a brief period of dormancy. As we all know, the past two months saw our Lodge go dark, but it was not a time of idleness. Instead, it was a period of great activity, dedication, and commitment from our officer line.

During this hiatus, our dedicated officers came together to orchestrate not just one, but two degrees. This extraordinary effort was made to ensure that Brother Matthew Baker can partake in our upcoming Master Mason degree, a momentous occasion that holds great significance for him and our Lodge. Furthermore, this endeavor allows us to extend a warm welcome to Brother Edward Baker, who can now attend the degree ceremony and share in this special moment with his grandson. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all those involved in making this happen; your dedication and hard work have not gone unnoticed.

As we get back to our Masonic work after the summer break, I encourage each and every one of you to have taken the time to enjoy the great outdoors and stay active. These moments of rejuvenation in nature often provide us with the mental and physical fortitude required for our Masonic journey.

I'm pleased to report that our entry project is progressing rapidly, and we owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to Brother Chris Wilke for leading the charge in this endeavor. His commitment and dedication to the Lodge have been truly commendable.

As we look forward to the upcoming month, mark your calendars for this Saturday at 9:00 AM, as we have a Master Mason degree scheduled. It promises to be an event of great importance and significance, and your presence will be greatly appreciated.

Following the degree, we have something exciting lined up for our brethren - a Chili Cook-off! I am certain that this will be a delightful occasion filled with camaraderie and good food. So, bring your appetite and your best chili recipes as we come together to enjoy the fruits of friendly competition.

In closing, let us remember the true essence of Freemasonry – unity, brotherhood, and service. As we gather once more in our beloved Weston Lodge Number 22, let us continue to work together in harmony,
strengthening our bonds, and contributing positively to our Fraternity.

Fraternally,
Michael Cardoza

Master of Weston Lodge 22
