MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

Zachery Booker
Brother Zachery is a Technical Sergeant serving full time in the United States Space Force serving as the Section Chief, Mission Support at Aerospace Data Facility. He came to Masonry out of curiosity, a desire to learn, self-improvement, and camaraderie and has very much enjoyed his time with our Lodge so far. He is a self-described ‘rock hound’ and loves searching for agates, minerals, and other treasures. He has also been a professional video game player (Call of Duty & Halo) and competed while representing the Space Force for 2.5 years. We are excited to have Brother Zachery as part of Weston 22!

MASTER'S MESSAGE

Brethren,

As we enter our second ‘dark’ month of the year, I want to talk about being the ‘light’ by addressing a topic that is particularly relevant in today's climate: the nature of divisive conversations in politics and our role as Masons. As you all know, we keep religion and partisan politics out of the lodge. This tradition upholds our unity and ensures that our diverse membership can work together harmoniously.

However, this does not lessen the importance of each of us being engaged and informed citizens. Freemasonry teaches us the values of truth, morality, and brotherly love. These principles guide us not only within the walls of the lodge but also in our daily interactions with the world around us.

In these times of heightened political tension and division, we have a unique opportunity and responsibility to be beacons of civility to the world around us. Our Masonic teachings equip us with the tools to engage in thoughtful and respectful discourse with those who hold differing views. By demonstrating patience, understanding, and a commitment to civil dialogue, we can set an example for others. Thoughtful discussion with people that have differing views on the world around us is incredibly valuable and I highly encourage it.

Let us remember that our actions speak volumes. Whether we are discussing current events, participating in community activities, or simply engaging in casual conversations, we have the power to influence those around us positively. Let us strive to embody the virtues of a Mason in all aspects of our lives.

I can’t wait to be back in lodge with you all shortly!

Fraternally,
Josh Levin
Worshipful Master
