MASTER'S MESSAGE

Brothers of Weston Lodge No. 22,

I hope this message finds you all well, enjoying the warmth of summer and taking time to relax with family and friends. As the Worshipful Master, I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you. Despite the lodge being dark for July and August, our Masonic spirit continues to shine brightly through the actions and dedication of our officers and brothers.

First and foremost, I want to extend my sincerest thanks to those who made it possible for us to initiate a new member into our beloved fraternity this month. It is awe-inspiring to witness the Masonic bond at work, even during these busy months. Our officers and several other brothers collaborated to deliver a truly memorable degree for the grandson of one of our esteemed aging brothers. This act of unity is part of an effort to ensure that one of our Master Masons can participate in the raising of his grandson later in the year. This is what Masonry is about, my brothers!

I cannot emphasize enough how appreciative I am of the efforts put forth by our lodge during the first part of this year. The commitment you have shown to our fraternity is truly commendable, and I have no doubt that you will continue to uphold these values in the coming months. As we enjoy the remainder of our summer, let us stay active, fit, safe, and healthy, ensuring that we return with renewed vigor to continue our noble pursuits in Freemasonry.

In conclusion, it is an honor and privilege to serve as your Worshipful Master. Our lodge is a testament to the strength of brotherhood and the impact we can have on each other's lives. Let us carry this spirit forward, remaining united in our purpose and connected in our hearts.

MASTER'S MESSAGE

Brethren,

First off, I hope all of you are enjoying this very green and wet spring so far! With spring comes renewed hope, vigor and enthusiasm for all things living. Gentlemen, I try to live my life with balance and spiritually, both physically and mentally. With this in mind, I would like to pose a challenge to each and every member of our lodge. I am pledging myself to spend at least 20 minutes a day doing an outdoor activity. This can be as simple as taking a walk to clear your head or going to a local park and doing the physical fitness course there. Studies show that 20 minutes of outdoor activity will reduce stress levels by as much as 40%! During the long COVID lockdown, many members of Weston joined in a 100 pushups a day challenge and it helped me in every way. It made it fun knowing that my brothers were doing the same feel-good activity that I was doing and gave me a small level of accountability too. With us about to go dark for the summer, it will give me great comfort knowing that my brothers are actively taking care of themselves and can’t wait to hear all the cool interactions we all have while outside in our little world. Besides, taking a nice walk is the perfect time to work on your ritual work should you be so motivated! 🙂

Secondly, we have two more meetings this month before we go dark. As a reminder, at the second stated communication this month, we are going to have a somewhat detailed financial discussion about the lodge, our funds, our budget, and the various bodies who keep us on track with our financial responsibilities and decisions. I encourage you to be in attendance!

MASTER'S MESSAGE

Brethren,

I think it finally looks as if Spring has sprung and I, for one, cannot wait for the warmer weather! With this in mind, we are rapidly approaching our summer months and the Lodge being dark for July and August. In fact, we only have four more Stated Communications before that happens! We have a lot of work left to do in the next two months. One item in particular is that we will be putting on a Master Mason Degree on June 17th at Weston Lodge #22 to raise the newest Master Masons in our Lodge.

I truly believe that it is our job as Master Masons to help raise our new members and make that a truly memorable event for each of them. If your cable tow permits, please try to make every effort to come down and be there for this degree. It is very impressive to new members when we have lots of brothers present at this once in a lifetime experience and it leaves lasting and long impressions and sometimes even provides the cement for new friendships.

Brothers in closing, please be on the lookout for something in your mailbox from me directly to help express my appreciation of your support and participation in our wonderful Lodge. As always, if you need anything at all - please do not hesitate for a moment and reach out to me directly.

MASTER'S MESSAGE

Brothers of WestonLodge,
April has definitely snuck up on me this year and if you’re feeling the same way, perhaps it’s because of all that we have done as a
Lodge in the first three months of the year! This past month there were several events outside of our Stated Communications that
were both a lot of fun and very special to me personally.

On March 16th, Weston Lodge moved its charter for one night and held a formal meeting at the Eastern Star Masonic Retirement Home. The purpose of this meeting was to honor one of our very special Past Masters of Weston Lodge, Worshipful Brother Bill Cardarelle, just ahead of his 102nd birthday which is later this month. Worshipful Brother Bill wanted to attend one more meetings with the brothers of Weston and it was one of the greatest honors of my Masonic journey to oblige him. What’s more, 17 other Past Masters and 25 other Masons of varying degrees from seven different Lodges decided that they wanted to be part of this special event too! To see the light in Worshipful Brother Bill’s eyes while sitting next to me in the East was truly a blessing to behold. The night ended with a birthday celebration with cake and ice cream. I was very proud of the Officers and Brothers of Weston Lodge for the work we did this night and I hope that you feel the same way!

On March 18th we held a Table Lodge of Instruction at Weston Lodge and toasted to famous Masonic Inventors. It was a wonderful time with festive conversation, homemade dinner, and informative presentations. The most important part was that we had 28 Brothers in attendance. If you have never been to Table Lodge at Weston Lodge, or if it’s been a few years, I highly suggest you consider attending our next one in October - they are always a great time!

As I have said more than once, which is very intentional, the theme this year is communication. With this in mind, please be on the lookout later this month for a letter from me to be delivered to your mailbox. Yes, I am told the Post Office still delivers these ’snail mail’ notes! Enclosed you will find a calendar for the year as well as other important information and a small token of my appreciation for your continued Masonic engagement with our Lodge. I’m trying to put together a Past Master’s Degree Team for our lodge. Details on this will be in the letter, but if you are interested please reach out to me directly.

I’ll leave you with a quote from a long-time Master Mason: “If it’s to be, it’s up to me!” With this in mind I ask you to try and come visit with your brothers of Weston Lodge and enjoy some fraternal fellowship. If you have not come down to Lodge for a while, I promise that you will be simply astounded by the energy and buzz around our building these days!

MASTER'S MESSAGE

Brothers of Weston,

I want to express my excitement and appreciation about how this Masonic year has begun. We have passed two Entered Apprentices to the Fellow Craft degree and we have initiated three new Entered Apprentices. We have also re-committed to having dinners before the second State Communication each month. These dinners are at 6 pm and are put together by brothers who have volunteered their time. I’ve always believed that families that eat together, stay together” and this is just as applicable to our Masonic family as it is to our individual ones. I highly encourage you all to make the time to come and break bread with your brothers and enjoy some fellowship and brotherly love. What’s more, the second Stated Communication is when we have Masonic education. This month, we will be honored to have our District Lecturer Lee Miller join us and deliver the education for the month.

Let’s continue to find ways to spend time with one another both in and out of Lodge. I strongly believe that the fellowship we build outside of Lodge only helps to make our experience inside of Lodge that much more special. I would love to get back to the days of having 30-40 brothers in regular attendance - our Lodge building can certainly handle it! I look forward to seeing you all soon and until then, please feel free to reach out to me directly any time.

MASTER'S MESSAGE

Brothers,

As you know, we have two regular communications left before we go dark for the summer.  Even as we prepare to go dark we have new candidates wishing to join us. This is a testament to the brotherhood we've developed at our lodge.

I find it interesting that we call Weston our Masonic Home. I know every time I walk through those doors, I take a deep breath and know, I am home. We all know friendship, morality and brotherly love. For me it translates to peace, tranquility and harmony. As we prepare to go dark, carry these three tenets with you.

Wishing everyone a period of rest, relaxation and some much needed family and "away" time. Be safe, enjoy your time; we will resume our labors in September '22.

MASTER'S MESSAGE

Brothers,

At the beginning of the year, I said I would listen to your suggestions, and I have heard you. We have instituted three new actions thus far. First is more Masonic education. Second is an Officers night off and third is a game night with prizes.

Next on our list is an amendment to our bylaws. When it passes, we will no longer read the previous meetings minutes or communications during each meeting. Instead, these items will be posted outside the Secretary's office an hour before and an hour after each meeting. This should make the meetings shorter and less tedious for all of us. However, to make this happen you need to attend the meetings so you can vote and make your wishes heard. Mumbling and griping on the sidelines does not accomplish anything. If you truly want to accomplish something meaningful, come to
lodge and participate.

The weather is getting better so you are running out of excuses. I encourage everyone from the newest E.A. to the seasoned Past Maters to come and see what your Lodge is doing and, be a part of it. You may learn something, have some fun and even win a prize, anything can happen.

For our first stated communication this month, one of our officers will provide a three, five or 7-minute talk. After the talk, we will discuss how we will be able to apply our learning to ourselves to help improve and enrich our lives as Masons.
